Since the formation of the Blue Weimaraer Club of America in July 2008, Liz and Renee have worked tirelessly to establish and promote the Club.  But there is so much more that needs to be done and they can’t do it alone.  With a plea for help, two members stepped up to offer assistance.  BWCA is proud to announce the appointment of two new board members to fill some vacancies and lend a hand.  The additions and changes to the Board of Directors is below:

Reneé Viehmann, Vice President & Marketing – Reneé has stepped down as Secretary and Treasurer but will fill the role of Vice President and will continue to focus on the marketing and promotion of the club.  She will continue to fundraise and coordinate the rescue committee.

Karin Olson, Secretary – Karin currently owns a gray Weim and a GSP and is anxiously awaiting a new blue arrival from the recent Fairhaven’s litter.  Karin is eager to help the BWCA and its cause.  Her first offer to help came when she volunteered to help keep track of blues in shelters.  She has been a huge help on the rescue side and when asked to step up and help on a more official level, she jumped at the chance. 

Jana Bartell, Treasurer – Jana and her family have been in the Weim world for a very long time. Jana has a lot of history and in particular, blue Weimaraner history.  Jana also has a lot of knowledge on running a non-profit organization so she will be able to help us establish our non-profit status and keep us running on the back end.

Constitution and By-Laws, Article III, Section 3. Vacancies.

Vacancies on the Board of Directors or among the officers shall be filled by appointment, made by the remaining directors, of a Club member who is otherwise qualified to sit on the Board. Each person so selected shall remain a director until the next Annual Election. However, a va­cancy in the office of President shall be filled automatically by the Vice President, and the resulting vacancy in the office of Vice President shall be filled by the Board as provided above.
