A Message from Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue:

Dear fellow rescuers, non-rescuers and friends,

No matter what our group affiliation, location or philosophy, even if we are not currently a member of a weimaraner rescue organziation, we all have one thing in common – love and respect for an awesome breed of dogs.  We each do whatever we can when a Weimaraner is in need and should, despite our differences, support each other if only for the bond we share with the Silver and the Blue.

Purina’s Rally to Rescue Doing More for Pets Contest has among its 10 finalists a Blue Weimaraner named Leo.  It could have been any of our rescues, but Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue just happens to have been the group that was able to help in his time of need.  It’s his story of near-death to the happiest of endings (with the help of lots of people in between) that spoke to the judges.  All of our groups have pulled off miracles deserving of recognition, but the timing was just right for Leo to be chosen for the contest this year.

I’m asking for your support in our attempt to promote Weimaraners and those involved in rescue. True, there’s a prize of food involved for the winning group, but the opportunity for large-scale promotion of rescues and the dogs we all love is the grand prize we’ll all share.

Please spread the word to your supporters and ask that they also cast their vote for Leo, a sweet, three-legged boy who represents the many Weimaraners we’ve all worked so hard to save.
