Garey – California

Update: Garey now runs for a toy to share with me. He puts his paws on my shoulders and softly ‘tells’ me his stories. He’s becoming personable and far more trusting. He is protective, however. Original post: Garey’s not had the best life. It’s no surprise to us that he distrusts men. He shows obvious signs of harsh treatment. Additionally, his nails were drastically cut far beyond the quick – only now are they showing jagged signs of growth. Still, in spite of his reticence with trust, Garey will offer you his paw to examine his mutilated nails. After years of Weim Rescue, Garey’s innocent offering of his mutilated paws brought me to tears.
